Jeff is one of only eight lawyers in the state of Texas named to the 2019 Super Lawyers list in the International practice area. 2019 marks the seventh consecutive year he was selected (2013-2019). Jeff co-founded Ohashi & Horn LLP, a boutique firm with offices in Dallas, New York, and Tokyo, seventeen years ago after beginning his career as a top associate of Jackson Walker LLP, one of Texas' oldest law firms. Jeff's creativity and business acumen have made him a trusted adviser of numerous executives of international corporations, principals of prominent investment firms, and entrepreneurs. Jeff maintains an extremely diverse international practice that includes mergers and acquisitions, employment matters, commercial litigation, and intellectual property matters. Fluent in Japanese, Jeff has more than 20 years of experience related to Asia, including living in Japan for two years. He represents numerous well-known Japanese companies, Japanese governmental organizations, and U.S. companies with operations in Japan. Practicing in Dallas, New York, and Tokyo, Jeff has an uncommon perspective and understanding of the global business environment in which his clients operate.
Outside of his law practice, Jeff is a life-long competitive athlete and martial artist. He is co-founder/owner of a premier strength and conditioning facility that also houses Alex Martins Brazilian JiuJitsu Academy. A consummate competitor (currently brown belt), Jeff is a two-time IBJJF World Master Champion, five-time Pan American Champion, four-time American National Champion, two-time Japanese National Champion, European Masters Champion, and Abu Dhabi Grand Slam LA Champion. He has also won more than 30 additional gold medals at IBJJF International Opens (e.g., Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Miami). The work ethic and iron will Jeff has developed through athletic and martial arts competition allow him to guide his clients through the challenges of today's business world and legal landscapes.
What Clients Say:
"Jeff has represented us in several corporate and litigation matters since we started our investment firm over six years ago. It is rare to find a counselor who has the acumen to handle both business transactions and complex commercial litigation. Jeff has a natural ability to take control of and find a resolution in the most challenging and complex situations. He has been a critical asset and a true partner in our growth and success."
Brandon W. Freeman

"Jeff handled a case of first impression involving a complex corporate merger. His tenacious, thorough preparation resulted in a total victory on the eve of trial—the opposition dismissed all of their claims with prejudice. It was a display of superb preparedness."
